clearly, you've picked up on the fact that i only post when i have other things to do.

so i am in summer school right now (half way in) and i have an essay that is due tomorrow. i finished the book earlier today, i have read over the outline, i have the time...

but my birthday is tomorrow.

i don't want to be doing this shit.

today or tomorrow.

don't care.

so instead, imma post somethings that i do and think that are a bit weird.

fair?

thought so.

oh look! it's me with long hair again! isn't that amazing? you can't even see where my hair ends. it just goes on for miles and miles the way i strategically placed it.

nope. that's just be bugging around because i like to pretend i have long hair.

OTHER IDIOSYNCRACIES I TAKE PART IN.

- everytime i put soap on my hands before i turn on the water, i think back to the first time that i was called out on it. i was at my elementary school washroom with one of my best friends at the time named lana and we were about to go out to recess and i put the soap on my hands before the water (for the first time just because i was distracted by the gossip she was telling me about) and she stopped mid sentence to ask me what i was doing with putting the soap on my hands first. and i got all defensive and said this is what i did everytime (though that's not true. i was distracted (as previously mentioned)) and then we got into this discussion as to whether or not that was a good thing. so now, if ever i put the soap on my hands before i rinse it with water, i think back to that conversation. i haven't spoken to lana since grade 6 graduation.

- i love hop and gos. those granola bar muffin things. they are awesome. particularly the ones with the chocolate chips. and i also loved ytv. i remember one day, i was eating a hop and go in the living room while watching this alvin and the chipmunks halloween special. if there's one thing that ytv was known for, was their amazing 1990's films that were shown on special holidays and occasions. anyway, i was eating my hop and go and theodore (one of the chipmunks) is befriending frankenstein (obviously) and they have one of those amazing montages of all the fantastic moments of their 20 minute friendship and one of them was where frankenstein learns how to share. he ends up splitting his cookie into two pieces and politely gives theodore the larger piece (though, let's be honest, theodore wanted the entire cookie.). but instead of just ignoring this moment or, i don't know, changing the channel, i decided to do the same thing with my hop and go. so i divided it into two pieces (not sharing it with anyone) and ate the smaller piece. because, you know, i wanted to be polite to my later self. and then i would grab the uneaten piece, break that into two, and so on and so forth. and that's how i eat my hop and gos now; constantly preparing myself for the possibility of sharing it with a drawn frankenstein that gets feautred in alvin and the chipmunk movies.

- i loved the television show friends. it was one of those shows that my sisters and i watched every night after supper. we freaked out about that one episode of "we don't know that they know that we know they know", we cried when monica proposed to chandler, we ran around the house screaming when ross said the wrong name at the wedding. even though i realise now that i probably didn't get half of the sexual innuendos, we loved the show. and there was this one episode that i saw, i must have been 10 or 11 that was phoebe buffay saying "oh no"(cannot find it on youtube). so basically i had watched one too many episodes of her doing that and decided to adopt her way of saying it. and i did. for the next 8 years. until fast forward i am working a shift at starbucks in montreal and my friend julie is hanging around as she always does and were chatting and i felt it appropriate to say "oh no" a la buffay. and maybe i should have mentioned earlier that julie is a bigger fan girl of the show than i am, but she calls me out on it. for the first time in 8 years, including my own sisters who watched all the episodes with me, she is the first one to pick up on my phoebe "oh no". i do it a lot less now.

and those are some of the weird things that effect my everyday life.

time to write an essay & turn 20 in 2 hours.

much love,

mtb.
