movies, moving, and music.

meet the face of:
-sinead o'connor
-stunt double for "my sister's keeper"
- lesbian
- a monk
i've gotten all the names possible at this point. it's gotten old, but i'll take it as a form of love.

mini updates:

i am moving to westmount tomorrow!
AT LONG LAST.
there is no way to vocalize how much i have loathed living in boxes for the past TWO WHOLE MONTHS.
awful. it's over tomorrow! i will paint my room it rightful pink and finally get installed.
i am looking forward to having a great neighbourhood this time around (now that i actually know the differences). the fact that westmount's newpaper has the slogan "we are westmount" assures me the only people i will have to deal with are the arrogant ones as opposed to the crazies.

something i want to toss out there:

my best friend saima is tough as nails. i love her dearly. you'll make it, whole wheat bread. i look forward to laughing about this.

movies i have watched thanks to my new blockbuster card:

(because we all know having fun isn't hard once you got one)

(that was an arthur referrence)

- l'orphelina: a spanish horror movie i have been meaning to see. it was alright.

- pirate radio: makes me want to work in music for the rest of my life. love the style, slang, and characters. you could tell i was born in the wrong decade. my inner dj loved this.

- sunshine cleaning: it was something interesting. emotionally driven. alright in my books for an independant film. interesting ideas.

- elephant: i was amazed with the way this movie was filmed. the fact they would have to redo a scene identically three times to have everyone's proper point of view left me very interested and respect the director. my heart was thumping the moment i knew the plot. one of those movies they will show film classes.

- shutter island: do not understand what all the hype was about. people were telling me they weren't sure if the man was insane or not. sorry gang, spoiler alert, of course he was crazy. you can tell by the overall fluidity of his realities compared to his dreams and how it's all the same lines. it's clear as crystal. even the director of the institution was the same actor as the "arsonist". duuuuhh!

- j'ai tue ma mere: if anyone would like to understand the relationship between my mother and myself, watch this movie. i understand that the only reason xavier dolan was recognized for this movie was because of his young age (16). however, that does not a successful movie maker make. i wasn't impressed by his very obvious corner shots and zoomed in shots making the whole thing seemed cluttered. but the story line, the dialogue.... that's my mother and i. i couldn't help but cry the entire time as lines i myself have used repeated themselves over and over again. i was left hoping for them to reveal the secret to making it stop. i'm still thinking about the whole thing.

- youth in revolt: the funniest part would be michael cera acting intense and still looking like a pansy with his moustache. nothing great.

- inglorious basterds: hoooooooooly moses. not for those with a weak stomach. beautifully done. i found it interesting the majority of it was done in foreign languages.

other things:
- i am a trasitioning vegan.
- i have started doing yoga. yum.
- i am coming up with ideas for my next zine that will hopefully stick. should start up once the westmount house is settled into.
- trying to come up with piercing ideas.
- trying to come up with craft ideas.
- enjoying my summer.
- trying to avoid ulcers at work because it really isn't worth it.
- all smiles here, mes amours.
tunes vijay needs for his ipod:
dreams be dreams - jack johnson (i am loving my jj stage)
stay cool, cucumbers.
with spunk and attitude,
mtb.
